Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position at PHAAE is designed for individuals with experience in graphic design, logo design, or digital image creation. The primary function of this role is to support PHAAE in enhancing its communication and outreach efforts, particularly in attracting potential donors based in the UK. Volunteers will collaborate to create visually appealing content that showcases PHAAE's ongoing projects and outcomes. This includes designing posters, infographics, and other materials for use on social media, the organization's website, or blog. The collaboration aims to improve PHAAE's visibility and effectiveness in donor outreach, ultimately contributing to the organization's mission of addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene issues in Nigeria. Volunteers will work under the guidance of subject experts and are expected to produce high-quality designs that align with the organization's goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected Online Volunteers will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Collaborating with team members to follow design suggestions and recommendations when creating content.
  • Making meaningful design suggestions that enhance the overall quality of the products, such as posters or infographics.
  • Creating clean, original designs suitable for use on social media, the organization's website, or blog.
  • Specifically, each volunteer is expected to produce three graphic designs each week after developing the brandbook during the assignment. The three Online Volunteers will focus on graphic design, brandbook creation, and digital image drawing, respectively. At the conclusion of the assignment, volunteers will receive a certificate of appreciation from UNV as a recognition of their contributions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Online Volunteer position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience in graphic design, brand design, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent tools.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing previous design work, particularly in creating infographics, posters, and social media content.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment and follow design guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and concepts.

Educational Background:
While there are no strict educational requirements for this position, a background in graphic design, visual arts, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications or degrees will be viewed favorably, as they demonstrate a formal understanding of design principles and practices.

Experience:
The ideal candidates should have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in graphic design or a related field. Experience working with non-profit organizations or in community development initiatives is a plus, as it provides context for the mission and values of PHAAE.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communication and design materials will be created in English. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those spoken in Nigeria or the UK, would be considered an asset but is not required.
