Job Overview: The Communications DesignCoordinator (Content, Brand & Multimedia) will play a crucial role in enhancing the communication efforts of the Information & Technology Management (ITM) Division within UNDP. This position is focused on strengthening both internal and external communication strategies, with a strong emphasis on visual communications, branding, and design. The incumbent will be responsible for creating engaging multimedia content that aligns with UNDP’s IT, Digital, and Data Strategies, as well as the ITM Communication Strategy. The role requires a creative individual who can conceptualize and produce a variety of communication materials, including videos, presentations, infographics, and social media visuals. The coordinator will also support brand management efforts, ensuring adherence to UNDP’s branding guidelines and visibility goals, while managing digital channels and promoting effective communication across platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate the planning and implementation of multimedia content and visual communications to enhance awareness and adoption of corporate platforms and services. This includes conceptualizing and creating user-centric multimedia content and campaigns to support UNDP’s IT and Digital Strategies.
Design communication materials based on stakeholder consultations, including digital products for various projects and initiatives.
Integrate AI-assisted tools into the production process to improve efficiency and creativity in line with organizational branding goals.
Support brand design and management, ensuring compliance with UNDP’s branding guidelines and providing advice to technical teams on best practices.
Manage and promote digital channels, overseeing the development and maintenance of project sites and ensuring responsive design.
Monitor and report on communication activities, managing the pipeline of activities and adjusting strategies based on performance metrics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop infographics and visualizations that enhance communication content.
Facilitate knowledge management by identifying best practices and contributing to corporate communications repositories.
Provide training for UNDP personnel on communication and branding strategies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Multimedia, Communications, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the aforementioned areas, combined with two years of relevant professional experience, will also be considered. The role requires a strong understanding of multimedia production, graphic design, and brand management, along with excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Familiarity with Adobe Suite, video editing tools, and web development is essential. Experience in creating multimedia campaigns and managing digital channels is highly desirable.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Multimedia, Communications, or a related field is required. A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the stated areas, combined with two years of qualifying experience, will also be considered in lieu of the advanced degree.
Experience: Applicants with a master’s degree in a relevant field are not required to have professional work experience. However, those with a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in graphic design, communication, marketing, or related roles at the national or international level. Experience with UN organizations or international organizations is preferred.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position. Proficiency in another UN language is considered desirable and will be an asset in the role.
