Job Overview:
The Project Assistant (Employability) will play a crucial role in supporting the integration of third-country nationals into the labor market in Greece, specifically within the Region of Attica. This position is part of the 'Helios+: Comprehensive actions for the integration of third-country nationals into the labour market' project, which aims to enhance the employability of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection. The successful candidate will work closely with national and local authorities, as well as experienced partners, to facilitate employability support, provide Greek language courses, and offer vocational training. The role involves direct interaction with beneficiaries to help them navigate the labor market, connect them with job opportunities, and provide guidance on necessary documentation to improve their employment prospects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project Assistant (Employability) include:
  • Supporting labor market integration through individual and group career counseling sessions.
  • Participating in the mapping of potential employers and identifying job vacancies.
  • Identifying opportunities and areas of employment to cultivate collaborations with private sector entities to enhance the employability of beneficiaries.
  • Connecting beneficiaries with job opportunities and providing ongoing support.
  • Organizing workshops, seminars, and events related to employability, focusing on beneficiaries’ access to the labor market.
  • Advising beneficiaries on additional documentation required for employment, such as driving licenses, language certificates, and official translations.
  • Ensuring accurate data entry and quality physical archiving of Means of Verification.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Project Team Lead or Project Assistant.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree and/or higher in fields such as Business Administration, Social Sciences, Law, Education, Lifelong Education, Economics, or any related field. A minimum of three years of relevant experience is required. A postgraduate degree or relevant training in career counseling is considered an advantage. Candidates should have a combination of knowledge, education, training, and skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the position effectively.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Social Sciences, Law, Education, or Economics. A postgraduate degree or specialized training in career counseling is preferred. Candidates must have graduated from accredited universities recognized in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
The position requires previous work experience in a similar role, demonstrating an adequate combination of knowledge, education, training, and skills to perform essential functions. Experience in a multi-cultural environment is preferred, indicating the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Greek, both written and oral, is mandatory for this position. IOM's official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages may be evaluated during the selection process, which could include written and/or oral assessments.

This position is subject to local recruitment, meaning only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Greece will be considered.
