Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support both the Secretary General’s Office and the Global Communication team. Key responsibilities include participating in content planning for strategic decisions, which involves writing and editing minutes for broader audiences. Interns will assist in organizing global meetings and events, producing communication products, and documenting minutes from these meetings. They will also communicate with country offices to gather stories, interviews, and photographs for internal and external communications. Additionally, interns will support the day-to-day operations of the Secretary General’s Office, including drafting minutes, preparing for meetings and travels, and collaborating closely with the Executive Assistant and Internal Communications Advisor. The role offers flexibility in task prioritization, allowing interns to influence their responsibilities based on their academic focus and interests.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be enrolled in a university program relevant to the internship, such as communications, journalism, development studies, political science, international relations, or migration studies. A strong interest in journalism or communication is advantageous. Applicants should possess excellent communication and writing skills, with a desire to enhance these abilities further. Fluency in both written and spoken English is mandatory, while proficiency in Danish, French, or Spanish is considered an asset but not required. Familiarity with MS Office and preferably MS 365 tools is essential, along with good collaboration and interpersonal skills. Interns should be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing their tasks systematically.

Educational Background:

Additional Notes:
The internship is expected to last between 4 to 6 months, depending on the intern's study requirements and mutual agreement. The workplace is located at DRC Headquarters in Lyngbyvej 100, 2100 Copenhagen. The ideal start date for the internship is at the end of January or beginning of February 2026, with some flexibility available. Interns will work approximately 32 hours per week, accommodating their study obligations. Although the internship is unpaid, DRC offers 2.08 unpaid vacation days per month, which can be taken as earned or accumulated. Interns will also receive free lunch in the canteen (subject to availability) and can participate in seasonal parties. It is important to note that candidates without the right to work in Denmark will need to apply for the necessary work authorization, with DRC providing support for this process.
