Job Overview: The position involves providing professional Graphics Design Services for UNDP Uganda Publications and Reports as required. The contractor will be expected to deliver high-quality graphic design work that meets the standards and requirements set by UNDP. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Collaborating with UNDP staff to understand the design requirements for various publications and reports.
Creating visually appealing graphics that effectively communicate the intended messages.
Ensuring all designs adhere to UNDP's branding guidelines and standards.
Preparing and delivering final design files in the required formats for print and digital use.
Revising designs based on feedback from UNDP staff and making necessary adjustments to meet project specifications.
Managing multiple design projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
Staying updated on design trends and software to ensure the use of modern techniques and tools.
Providing support in the development of promotional materials and other visual content as needed.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include:
Proven experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and other relevant tools.
Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with UNDP staff and understand their design needs.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field. Additional certifications in graphic design or relevant software may be advantageous. A strong academic foundation in design principles and practices is essential for success in this role.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably in a similar role within an international organization or non-profit sector.
