Job Overview:
The Regional Team Lead will play a crucial role in providing technical monitoring and support for the implementation of life-saving HIV/TB and other health strategies and interventions specifically for the EpiC Uganda West regions. This position requires the individual to offer technical support and capacity building to project partners, ensuring that the technical performance in their respective region is robust and effective. The Regional Team Lead will be responsible for ensuring that high-quality project technical deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget constraints. Additionally, the role involves supervising relevant program personnel to meet EpiC Uganda’s technical objectives, contributing to and/or leading technical presentations for regional stakeholders, and actively participating in regional performance review and learning platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Regional Team Lead include providing technical leadership and oversight of EpiC Uganda's HIV & TB activities, collaborating with various technical specialists to ensure the delivery of quality life-saving services. The individual will create and refine the technical portion of the project workplan, ensuring alignment with available resources and budget. They will also provide technical leadership in the design, development, planning, and implementation of project activities, contribute to capacity-building efforts for regional staff and partners, and lead day-to-day technical activities while monitoring project results. The Regional Team Lead will maintain constructive dialogue with regional counterparts, ensure technical implementation meets best practices, supervise regional technical staff, draft donor technical reports, and prepare presentations for stakeholders on project progress. Furthermore, they will gather and aggregate data to provide a high-level overview and identify areas for improved efficiency or effectiveness within prescribed parameters.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires strong knowledge and skills in HIV & TB program implementation in Uganda, as well as knowledge of maternal health, nutrition, and malaria programming. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage projects, set realistic priorities, and plan for successful implementation of activities. Strong writing and verbal communication skills are essential, along with relevant computer software skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications. The individual must be able to manage their own work to meet job and performance standards and must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree or its international equivalent in Public Health, Global Health, Epidemiology, Clinical Medicine, Human Development, or a related field. Project Management training is considered an added advantage for this position.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of relevant experience in the technical implementation of HIV and other health projects and/or programs in Uganda. Experience working with PEPFAR-supported programs and local or international organizations that implement HIV/TB care and treatment programs in Uganda is essential. Documented experience providing HIV technical assistance to government and/or partner organizations is also required, with a preference for candidates who have program development or program management experience.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as requirements.
