Job Overview:
The Programme Assistant (Admin & Comms) position is designed to provide essential administrative and operational support to the PLRCAP team within NORCAP. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth functioning of team operations and effective communication, which are vital for delivering high-quality programs that align with PLRCAP's objectives. The Programme Assistant will work closely under the supervision of the PLRCAP Project Manager and will be involved in various tasks that support the overall mission of strengthening Nigerian NGOs. The position requires a proactive individual who can manage day-to-day operations, assist with logistics, and contribute to the communications strategy of the project. The role also involves engaging with capacity strengthening experts and facilitating the implementation of training and mentorship programs for local NGOs. The Programme Assistant will play a key role in enhancing the visibility of the project through effective communication and social media management, thereby contributing to the overall success of the initiative.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Assistant (Admin & Comms) will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to: providing daily administrative and operational support to the PLRCAP team; assisting with logistics, scheduling, documentation, and coordination of project activities; supporting publicity and communications functions, which includes drafting and publishing content for social media; managing and maintaining project files and documentation on SharePoint; organizing meetings, preparing reports, and tracking project timelines and deliverables; developing engaging content for social media platforms and monitoring analytics to optimize performance; coordinating travel arrangements and liaising with NRC logistics and finance teams; responding to inquiries via email and social media, ensuring timely and professional communication; and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the team by fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates applying for the Programme Assistant position should possess a university degree in Management, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have 1–2 years of experience in administration and communications, preferably within a non-profit or donor-funded project. A strong knowledge of social media platforms, particularly Twitter and LinkedIn, as well as content creation tools such as Canva, is essential. Excellent organizational and communication skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment is crucial, as is a solid understanding of NGO operations and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field such as Management, Social Sciences, or Communications. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of the role and the operational environment in which NORCAP operates. Candidates should have a strong grasp of the principles of administration and communications, which are critical for supporting the PLRCAP team effectively.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience in administration and communications, ideally within the context of non-profit organizations or donor-funded projects. Familiarity with the operations of NGOs and the challenges they face in humanitarian contexts will be advantageous.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in English. While not mandatory, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if it enhances communication with diverse stakeholders within the humanitarian sector.

Additional Notes:
This position is open exclusively to Nigerian citizens holding a valid Nigerian passport. The role is offered under a NORCAP national contract through NRC Nigeria, and it may require travel within Nigeria, estimated at approximately 15%. The position is full-time, and candidates should be prepared to work in a multicultural environment.
