Job Overview:
The purpose of this consultancy is to enhance U-Report Myanmar's branding and digital engagement through comprehensive strategies aimed at increasing visibility, participation, and youth-led advocacy. The consultant will ensure that U-Report remains a vital platform for adolescents and young people to express their views and contribute to UNICEF's child rights agenda in Myanmar. This role involves developing and implementing a social media strategy, creating engaging content, and fostering youth participation in various initiatives. The consultant will work closely with the Communication Officer and the Chief of APC to ensure alignment with global guidelines and effective execution of strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to enhance U-Report's visibility and engagement across multiple platforms.
  • Create and curate high-quality digital content, including graphics, videos, stories, and campaigns that reflect youth perspectives and promote child rights issues.
  • Strengthen youth participation by identifying and implementing innovative approaches to increase active U-Reporters and youth-led initiatives online.
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance to inform data-driven decisions, optimize content, and report on engagement metrics.
  • Provide capacity support and coordination with UNICEF, partners, and youth networks to ensure message alignment and amplification of U-Report campaigns.
  • Undertake field missions to capture authentic youth stories and deliver social media skill-building sessions for young people and implementing partners.

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in developing a wide array of online content, social media management, and campaign building.
  • Expertise in media buying and customized planning approaches.
  • Knowledge of social media insights and experience in content analysis.
  • Understanding of youth online communities and trends.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to the social media climate.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Natural Sciences, or Formal/Applied Sciences, or any other relevant field is required for this position.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in social media strategy, content creation, and digital engagement, demonstrating a strong understanding of online trends and youth engagement.

Languages:
Good written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The contract duration is from January to December 202
  • The position is remote/home-based with required travel to program areas in Myanmar. All field missions will be subject to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-clearance" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security clearance and guidance from UNICEF and UNDSS. Selected candidates will undergo rigorous reference and background checks, and must confirm their fully-vaccinated status against COVID-19 prior to the assignment. Consultants are responsible for their tax liabilities and ensuring valid visa and health insurance for the contract duration.
