Job Overview:
The Procurement Intern position is designed to provide the intern with hands-on experience in procurement operations while simultaneously offering the procurement team additional support in their daily tasks. This role is mutually beneficial, allowing the intern to gain practical skills and insights into the procurement process, while the organization benefits from enhanced workflow efficiency. The internship is set to last for a period of three months, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, allowing for flexibility to accommodate the intern's academic commitments. The intern will report to the Procurement and Logistics Officer and work closely with the Supply Chain Officer, as well as programme managers and other relevant units within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include providing administrative support related to procurement, managing vendor performance, and assisting in the procurement process. Specific duties include monitoring vendor performance and reporting any discrepancies to the procurement team, assisting in the evaluation of supplier bids and quotations based on established criteria, supporting procurement data analysis such as spend tracking and order management, and preparing weekly reports on open commitments. The intern may also be assigned additional duties by their supervisor as needed, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s degree program, be enrolled in a graduate program, or have completed a university degree within the last 12 months. Proficiency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory, while knowledge of Dari or Pashto is considered an advantage. Additionally, candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and possess strong attention to detail when managing data. A motivation to learn and work effectively within a cross-functional humanitarian team is essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a background in higher education, specifically being in their final year of a bachelor’s degree program or enrolled in a graduate program. Alternatively, recent graduates who have completed their university degree within the last 12 months are also eligible to apply.
