Job Overview: The intern will work under the supervision of the Senior ProgrammeCoordinator and the Information Management Officer, primarily focusing on supporting the collaboration between the Information Management (IM) team and the reporting team. The role involves understanding the information needs of the organization and coordinating with the Database Assistant to design and implement SQL views and output tables. The intern will ensure that these designs adhere to industry-standard principles for high reusability and maintainability. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for maintaining data consistency and accuracy, providing statistical information, and mapping solutions to meet both internal and external information requests. The role also includes overseeing Business Intelligent Profiling (BIP), which involves preparing, cleaning, transforming, and maintaining the integrity of relevant data, as well as interpreting and analyzing raw data into meaningful information and key findings. Collaboration with Data Analysts and the Database Officer is essential to determine and locate appropriate data sources that meet reporting requirements, ensuring proper access to these data sources. The intern will also execute additional tasks as assigned by the line manager, contributing to a dynamic and supportive work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support collaboration between the IM and reporting teams to understand information needs.
Coordinate with the Database Assistant to design and implement SQL views and output tables.
Ensure designs follow industry-standard principles for reusability and maintainability.
Maintain data consistency and accuracy in collaboration with management.
Provide statistical information and mapping solutions for internal and external requests.
Oversee Business Intelligent Profiling (BIP) by preparing, cleaning, transforming, and maintaining data integrity.
Interpret and analyze raw data into meaningful information and key findings.
Work with Data Analysts and Database Officer to determine and locate appropriate data sources.

Required Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s degree or in a graduate program, or have completed a university degree within the last 12 months.
Strong interest in information management or database design.
Working knowledge of English (oral and written); knowledge of Dari or Pashto is an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with attention to detail in data management.
Motivation to learn and work in a cross-functional humanitarian team.
Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in a relevant academic program, specifically in their final year of a bachelor's degree or in a graduate program. Alternatively, candidates who have completed their university degree within the last 12 months are also eligible to apply. This educational background should ideally be in fields related to information management, data analysis, or a similar discipline.
Experience: The position is designed for interns, thus requiring minimal prior experience. However, candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in information management and database design. Any relevant experience, such as internships or academic projects related to data management, will be considered an asset.
Languages: A working knowledge of English is mandatory, both oral and written. Knowledge of Dari or Pashto is considered an advantage, enhancing communication within the local context and with diverse teams.
Additional Notes: The intern will receive a monthly stipend as compensation for their work. The organization emphasizes on-the-job learning, coaching, and capacity-building support throughout the internship. It is essential for the intern to be based in or able to travel to the Kabul office, ensuring their presence for collaborative tasks and meetings.
