Job Overview: The consultancy assignment aims to support the design, development, and global rollout of Philanthropy Compass 2.0, a digital decision-making and learning platform for major donors and philanthropic partners. The consultant will act as the Product Owner, ensuring user-centered design and strategic alignment with UNICEF's global philanthropy priorities. This role involves coordinating multiple stakeholders across various UNICEF offices to deliver a high-quality digital product that enhances UNICEF's value proposition for philanthropic partners. The consultant will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from product discovery to global rollout, ensuring that the platform meets the needs of its users and aligns with UNICEF's mission.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Product Discovery and Governance Setup: Conduct stakeholder interviews, map user journeys, define MVP scope, and establish governance structures.
Strategic Roadmap, MVP Design, and Web Developer Recruitment: Develop a comprehensive product roadmap, create MVP wireframes, and support the hiring of a web developer.
Agile Implementation and Vendor Management: Lead sprint cycles, ensure quality control, and produce progress reports.
Stakeholder Engagement and Market Workshops: Design and facilitate workshops to gather insights and validate design assumptions.
Data Visualization, Content Migration, and UX Testing: Oversee content migration, design interactive dashboards, and coordinate user testing.
Pilot Launch, Onboarding Toolkit, and Global Rollout: Conduct pilot launches, collect feedback, and deliver training materials for global stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: An advanced university degree in Project Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted. A minimum of eight years of professional experience in product management or digital transformation within global organizations is required, along with proven experience managing complex digital projects and working with major donors. Expertise in data visualization, human-centered design, and agile methodologies is essential.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Project Management, Communications, or Business Administration. A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or higher) may be accepted if accompanied by two additional years of relevant work experience.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of eight years of professional experience in product management, platform development, or digital transformation. Candidates should have experience managing complex multi-stakeholder digital projects and working closely with philanthropists and major donors. Experience in fundraising innovation contexts and familiarity with potential pilot markets such as Australia, the UK, and South Korea is highly desirable.
Languages: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory. Proficiency in another UN language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The consultancy role is remote/home-based, with potential travel covered separately by UNICEF. The consultant must adhere to UNICEF's travel policies and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Payment will be based on the satisfactory completion of deliverables, and UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment for unsatisfactory performance.
