Job Overview: The Case Processing Officer will play a crucial role within the case processing team for durable solutions in Tunis. This position involves direct engagement with refugees, where the officer will be responsible for profiling, screening, and interviewing individuals to assess their needs and identify suitable solutions such as resettlement, complementary pathways, or voluntary repatriation. The officer will prepare comprehensive assessment reports and documentation in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). A significant aspect of this role includes providing counseling to refugees and other persons of concern, guiding them to make informed decisions regarding their durable solutions. The officer will also ensure the timely processing of necessary documents to facilitate access to the identified solutions, thereby playing a vital role in the overall support provided to vulnerable populations. Additionally, the officer will maintain and update electronic databases related to resettlement and other pathways, ensuring that all data is accurate and compliant with procedural requirements. The role also involves preparing statistical reports and other documentation as needed, contributing to the organization's data management and reporting efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Case Processing Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Profiling and screening refugees to assess their eligibility for various durable solutions.
Conducting interviews with refugees and other persons of concern to gather necessary information for case processing.
Preparing and submitting assessment reports and documentation in line with SOPs.
Providing counseling to refugees to help them understand their options and make informed decisions.
Ensuring timely processing of documents to facilitate access to identified solutions.
Maintaining and updating electronic databases for resettlement, voluntary repatriation, and complementary pathways.
Preparing statistical and ad-hoc reports as required.
Conducting protection interviews and drafting assessments for complex cases when necessary.
Supporting identity management activities in Tunis as needed. 1
Collaborating with other team members and stakeholders to ensure effective case processing and support.
Required Qualifications: The position requires a set of qualifications that include strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian principles and possess a deep understanding of the challenges faced by refugees and displaced persons.
