Job Overview:
The Driver position at UNICEF is crucial for providing reliable and safe driving services to staff and officials. This role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity, as well as a strong sense of responsibility. The Driver must demonstrate excellent knowledge of local driving rules and regulations while maintaining a client-oriented approach. The position involves not only driving but also ensuring that the assigned vehicle is in good running condition, which includes performing minor repairs and arranging for major repairs as needed. The Driver is expected to document all vehicle-related information accurately and ensure that all necessary documents and supplies are available in the vehicle. This role is essential for facilitating the smooth operation of UNICEF's activities and ensuring the safety of its personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide reliable and safe driving services for UN staff, officials, and visitors, including the transport of mail, documents, and other items.
  • Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport, assisting with basic visa and customs formalities when required.
  • Maintain the assigned vehicle in good running condition by addressing minor repairs, arranging for major repairs, and ensuring timely oil changes, tire checks, brake inspections, and car washing.
  • Document vehicle-related information, including insurance, registration, vehicle logs, and necessary supplies such as a first aid kit and spare parts.
  • Ensure compliance with local driving rules and regulations at all times.
  • Demonstrate a client-oriented approach and maintain a high level of courtesy and tact while interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.

Required Qualifications:
  • A secondary education is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is mandatory, with knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
  • A bus driving license (Category D license) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of two years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system with a safe driving record is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people from different national and cultural backgrounds are essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a secondary education. This educational requirement ensures that the individual has a foundational level of knowledge and skills necessary for the role, particularly in understanding and following driving regulations and protocols.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of work experience as a driver, preferably within an international organization, embassy, or the UN system. This experience should include a proven safe driving record, demonstrating the candidate's reliability and adherence to safety standards.

Languages:
