Job Overview:
The Protection Associate position is crucial for ensuring that protection measures are effectively integrated into temporary shelters, particularly for women at risk who are accommodated in UNHCR-supported facilities. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the case management framework, which includes creating individual case plans for each resident and ensuring that documentation, follow-up, and referrals are executed consistently. This role also involves the implementation of the SafeGuard GBV prevention initiative, embedding protection principles and preventive measures into daily management and community engagement activities. The Protection Associate will supervise one colleague directly and provide technical guidance to field colleagues, ensuring that coherent standards and continuity of care are maintained. Additionally, the position supports the transition of case management functions to relevant sub-units while retaining technical oversight and direct responsibility for complex cases, particularly those involving gender-based violence (GBV) and mental health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support (MHPSS). Coordination with protection and MHPSS partners, as well as state institutions like Child Protection Delegates and social centers, is essential for timely referrals and effective case responses.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Protection Associate will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: overseeing the case management framework for residents in temporary shelters, ensuring that each resident has an individual case plan; managing documentation, follow-up, and referrals consistently; implementing the SafeGuard GBV prevention initiative; embedding protection principles in daily management and community engagement; supervising one direct report and providing technical guidance to field colleagues; maintaining technical oversight for complex and sensitive cases, particularly those involving GBV and MHPSS; coordinating with protection and MHPSS partners and state institutions for timely referrals and effective follow-up; ensuring coherent standards and continuity of care; and supporting the transition of case management functions to relevant sub-units.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a strong understanding of protection principles, particularly in relation to GBV and MHPSS. Candidates should possess excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. A demonstrated commitment to human rights and the ability to handle sensitive cases with discretion and professionalism are essential. Educational Background:
