Job Overview: The Analyst position is crucial for the design and implementation of the Sickle Cell Disease program in Madhya Pradesh, India. The role involves working closely with the Program Manager to achieve grant objectives related to SCD screening and treatment. The Analyst will engage with government officials to facilitate program execution and will be responsible for developing data collection and evaluation tools to support evidence-based decision-making. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage a variety of tasks, including revising program guidelines, conducting research, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The Analyst will also need to travel approximately 30% of the time to program sites and meetings, making adaptability and strong communication skills essential for success in this role.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Analyst will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Supporting the design and implementation of the Sickle Cell Disease program in alignment with government priorities.
Ensuring the quality of program/project design by incorporating lessons learned and best practices.
Developing and rolling out data collection tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
Analyzing facility and community-level data to identify gaps and opportunities for intervention.
Keeping updated on policy developments and preparing briefs for the program's theory of change.
Supporting demand generation and supply chain management efforts, including capacity building and product forecasting.
Monitoring program progress, identifying challenges, and proposing solutions.
Documenting the ecosystem of donors, partners, and government officials.
Scoping new opportunities and creating pitch documents for potential grants. 1
Coordinating project outputs related to execution, reporting, and compliance. 1
Developing presentations and reports for stakeholders. 1
Undertaking additional responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, or a postgraduate degree in a related field such as public health, administration, economics, or sociology, with a minimum of 1 year of experience. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential, and familiarity with advanced analytical tools is advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to synthesize complex information and prepare compelling presentations and reports. Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Hindi are required, along with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Experience working with government stakeholders and knowledge of the Indian public health system is preferred.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as public health, administration, economics, social work, sociology, management, or population studies. A postgraduate degree is preferred, especially for candidates with less work experience. The educational background should provide a solid foundation for understanding public health issues and program management.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience for those with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 1 year of experience for those with a postgraduate degree. Experience in public health, program management, or working with government stakeholders is highly desirable. Familiarity with the Indian healthcare landscape, particularly in sexual and reproductive health, is an added advantage. Candidates should demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work independently on complex projects.
Languages: Fluency in English and Hindi is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be beneficial but is not required. Strong communication skills in both languages are essential for effective collaboration with stakeholders and for the dissemination of information.
Additional Notes: This position is full-time and may require extensive travel within India, particularly in Madhya Pradesh. The role is designed for individuals who are adaptable and can thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The Analyst will be expected to work independently while also collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
