Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's responsibilities will include:
Monitoring and analyzing human rights issues and developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Keeping track of political and legislative developments that affect human rights.
Assisting in the preparation of reports and documents related to human rights advocacy.
Contributing to research and analysis that supports OHCHR's mission.
Engaging with various stakeholders, including government officials, civil society organizations, and other relevant entities to gather information and insights.
Participating in meetings and discussions related to human rights issues.
Supporting the development of early warning mechanisms and advocacy strategies.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be a graduate or currently enrolled in a graduate school program (Master's degree or equivalent) or in the final academic year of a first-level university degree program (Bachelor's degree or equivalent).
Be able to commence the internship on the date specified in the acceptance letter if selected.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a university degree or be enrolled in a graduate program. The preferred fields of study include law, political science, international relations, social sciences, or related disciplines. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of human rights issues and the legal frameworks that govern them.
Experience: While prior experience is not mandatory, any relevant experience in human rights, law, political science, or related fields will be considered an asset. Interns should demonstrate a strong interest in human rights and a willingness to learn and engage with complex issues.
Languages: Fluency in written and oral English is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those spoken in Bosnia and Herzegovina, may be considered advantageous but is not mandatory.
