SI's operations are supported by the Service Expertises et Qualité des Programmes (SEQP), which provides technical support to field teams and headquarters, assists in defining mission strategies, critically assesses project quality, contributes to the technical development of the organization, and enhances the skills of technical teams through the development of tools and training materials.

Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position of Assistant·e du Service Expertises et Qualité des Programmes (SEQP) involves providing support to the SEQP in various technical and thematic research tasks, including bibliographic research and document synthesis related to the different sectors of SEQP (Food Security and Livelihoods, Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, and cross-cutting protection issues). The intern will assist team members in capitalizing on processes by translating, proofreading, correcting, and disseminating documents produced by SEQP, such as activity sheets, internal notes, and manuals. The role also includes attending bi-monthly SEQP meetings and taking minutes, organizing events by coordinating logistics, and participating in the design and distribution of the SEQP newsletter to field teams. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for updating data and indicators on internal dashboards and monitoring the SEQP budget. The tasks are transversal, requiring autonomy, versatility, and availability, with a strong emphasis on understanding the humanitarian sector and its constraints. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of how a humanitarian NGO operates, its challenges, and the various approaches that guide its actions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to SEQP for technical and thematic information research (bibliographic research, document synthesis, etc.) on topics covered by the different SEQP sectors (Food Security and Livelihoods, Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, and cross-cutting protection issues).
  • Assist team members in capitalizing on processes: translation, proofreading, correction, and dissemination of documents produced by SEQP (activity sheets, internal notes, manuals, etc.).
  • Attend bi-monthly SEQP meetings and write minutes.
  • Participate in organizing events: coordinate logistics (venue reservation, planning team-building activities, etc.), contribute to the design and proper conduct of meetings, and write reports.
  • Help design and send the SEQP newsletter to field teams.
  • Update data/indicators on internal dashboards.
  • Monitor the SEQP budget.
  • Adapt tasks based on the needs of different SEQP sectoral poles and ongoing projects at headquarters.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong interest in the sectors of water, hygiene, sanitation, agriculture, rural development, and/or project monitoring/evaluation.
  • Good writing and synthesis skills in both French and English.
  • Fluent in French and English is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of the humanitarian project cycle.
  • Sensitivity to quality approaches in program implementation.
  • A genuine interest in the associative world and the humanitarian sector.
  • Proactive, critical, and reactive mindset.
  • Ability to demonstrate rigor, autonomy, and adaptability.
  • Capacity to manage multiple files simultaneously. 1
  • Ability to handle stress, be available, and demonstrate diplomacy and relational ease. 1
  • Good knowledge of Office tools and software.

Educational Background:
Higher education in humanitarian project management, political science, or international relations is required. A technical background or strong interest in water and sanitation or agronomy will be an asset.

Experience:
No specific prior experience is required, but a background in humanitarian work or related fields is preferred. The intern should be eager to learn and understand the humanitarian context and its challenges.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The internship is based at the headquarters of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL in Clichy (92), accessible via the Mairie de Clichy metro station. The internship requires a formal internship agreement. Compensation is set at €5.60 per hour, calculated based on actual hours worked per month (approximately 154 hours for an average month, equating to 22 days of 7 hours each). Public transport costs are covered at 50% by SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL. Meal vouchers worth €8.90 per day of actual internship work are provided, with SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL contributing 60%.
