Job Overview:
The position of Administrative Officer (Procurement/HR) is situated within the Economy Division of UNEP, specifically in the Administrative Services at the Nairobi duty station, which is the headquarters.   • General Administration: The role includes drafting correspondence related to administrative and financial matters, coordinating with service units, and assisting in the review of legal instruments. The incumbent may also guide and supervise junior staff.
  • Requisitioning/Contract Administration: Acting as a requisitioner for the Director's office, the incumbent will assist with the administration of contracts and prepare necessary UN forms and permissions.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: The position requires assisting with data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports for decision-making.
  • Visualizations and Information Updates: The incumbent will assist in updating information materials such as web pages and brochures.
  • Other Duties: Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of seven years of progressive working experience in administrative services, finance, accounting, audit, human resources, or a related area is required. This experience requirement is reduced to five years for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher. Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is essential, and experience in an international organization is desirable. Candidates should demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and strong planning and organizing skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates with a first-level university degree or higher will have a reduced experience requirement, indicating that higher education is valued in this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in administrative services, finance, accounting, audit, human resources, or a related area. Languages:
