Job Overview: The Programme Associate (Cooperating Partner Management) position at WFP is crucial for managing partnerships that are essential for the effective delivery of food assistance and related programs. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Associate include providing technical support in the development and implementation of activities related to cooperating partnerships. This involves preparing and reviewing Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Field Level Agreements (FLAs) in accordance with WFP policies. The incumbent will coordinate partner selection processes, conduct due diligence and capacity assessments of partners, and monitor their performance. Additionally, the Programme Associate will facilitate spot checks and audits, ensuring compliance and proper documentation. The role requires the preparation of reports and data analysis related to food assistance needs and program performance, as well as liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support effective collaboration. The Programme Associate will also oversee the work of support staff, providing guidance and ensuring that objectives are met within agreed standards and deadlines. Emergency preparedness practices must be followed to ensure WFP can respond quickly to crises.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in business administration, Economics, Accounting, International Affairs, or a related field relevant to international development assistance. A minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in partnership management, program operations, or related areas is required. Strong understanding of partnership frameworks, grant agreements, and compliance is essential. Proven experience in partner capacity assessment and performance monitoring is necessary, along with proficiency in UN systems such as UNPP and WINGS. Excellent coordination, communication, and analytical skills are critical, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with attention to detail. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools, is also required, with knowledge of the WFP COMET system considered a plus.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, Economics, Accounting, International Affairs, or any other discipline that supports international development assistance. Experience: The position requires a minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in areas such as partnership management, agreement formulation, program operations, and implementation. Languages: Fluency in both English and Arabic, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. This bilingual requirement is essential for effective communication with diverse stakeholders, including local partners, government institutions, and WFP staff. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
