Job Overview: The Program Manager for the Maximum Impact Incubator at CHAI will play a crucial role in identifying and incubating programs that generate significant health impact through cost-effective programming. This position involves engaging with CHAI program and country teams, philanthropic partners, and senior leadership to source, evaluate, prioritize, recommend, and seek funding for health programs that are both highly cost-effective and scalable. The role requires conducting rigorous analyses of prospective programs, organizing program reviews, managing communications across diverse teams, and synthesizing findings for internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a curious and analytical mindset, with a strong desire to lead a team in driving impactful health programs that benefit millions of people. The position offers flexibility to be based in a CHAI program country outside the United States, pending approval from Country Leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Program Manager include collating data on the costs and effects of high-impact interventions through literature reviews and discussions with CHAI teams and external experts. The manager will critically evaluate the strength of the evidence base for interventions, identify data gaps, and conduct cost-effectiveness analyses to compare the impact of interventions per dollar spent. Establishing and maintaining relationships with donors to build consensus on strategic frameworks and impact modeling is also a key responsibility. Additionally, the manager will designmonitoring and evaluation systems to demonstrate program impact and address uncertainties identified in analyses. The role requires synthesizing outputs through high-quality presentations, reports, and publications, ensuring that findings are communicated effectively to various stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years of business experience in the private or NGO sector, particularly in fast-paced, results-oriented environments such as strategy consulting, investment banking, or pharmaceuticals. Experience in conducting rigorous research and presenting findings to diverse audiences is essential. Candidates should also have experience in conducting costing analyses and/or modeling the impact of programs. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required, along with exceptional written and oral communication skills. Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory.
Educational Background: A postgraduate degree (either completed or ongoing) in data science, economics, public health, epidemiology, or a related quantitative discipline is advantageous for candidates applying for this position. This educational background will provide the necessary analytical skills and knowledge required for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in business or research, particularly in environments that demand rigorous analysis and effective communication of findings. Experience working remotely with decentralized teams and in or supporting low- and middle-income countries is also beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, both in written and verbal communication. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an advantage, particularly if they are relevant to the countries in which CHAI operates.
