Job Overview:
The Client Engagement Assistant role is pivotal in supporting the UNV's mission at the country level. Under the guidance of the Regional Manager and day-to-day reporting to the Country Coordinator, the assistant will be responsible for identifying, developing, and nurturing partnerships with UN Agencies and Host Entities. This position involves managing relationships with priority partners, ensuring client satisfaction with volunteer services, and facilitating the mobilization of volunteers to meet the needs of designated partners. The assistant will also play a crucial role in bridging centralized volunteer management functions with local needs, ensuring that volunteer experiences are positive and fulfilling. Regular interaction with UN personnel at various levels is expected, and the assistant will be required to collaborate across multiple units and teams to enhance service delivery and support the overall mission of UNV.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Client Engagement Assistant will undertake a variety of duties, including:
  • Assisting in the mobilization of volunteers and maintaining partnerships by managing assigned partner accounts, promoting UNV’s mandate, and identifying volunteer placement opportunities.
  • Supporting the development of tailored offers and initiatives that align with partners' needs for volunteer solutions.
  • Contributing to advocacy campaigns and communications to raise awareness of volunteerism.
  • Collecting and analyzing data to identify opportunities for volunteer engagement and documenting this information in UNV’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Preparing presentations and key messages for partner engagement.
  • Acting as a focal point for online volunteering and supporting host entities in developing opportunities.
  • Supporting volunteer experience and duty of care by onboarding volunteers, responding to inquiries, organizing appreciation initiatives, and liaising with security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security focal points.
  • Backstopping other functions during peak periods to ensure continuity of service.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Client Engagement Assistant position should possess strong competencies in system thinking, integration within the UN, knowledge generation, communication, customer satisfaction, relationship management, and event planning. They should demonstrate the ability to analyze problems, engage with diverse partners, communicate effectively, and manage client relationships. A proactive approach to identifying and addressing client needs is essential, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across various teams and functions.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required for this position, typically including a degree in social sciences, international relations, development studies, or a related field. Candidates should have a solid understanding of the UN system and its operations, as well as knowledge of volunteerism and its impact on development.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have prior experience in client engagement, partnership development, or volunteer management. Experience working within the UN system or with international organizations is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successfully managing relationships and delivering results in a collaborative environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in Portuguese is highly desirable given the location of the assignment in Brazil. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly those relevant to the UN's work in the region.

This is a national UN Volunteer assignment based in Brasília, Brazil, which is classified as a family duty station. The living conditions in Brasília are generally good, with access to health services and a variety of accommodation options. National UN Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The assignment is subject to the UN's security protocols, and volunteers are advised to exercise caution due to the moderate security level in Brazil.
