Job Overview: The Director, Data Platform & Systems is a pivotal role responsible for shaping and executing the strategic roadmap for the organization's fundraising and marketing technology stack, data platform, and systems. This position emphasizes platform strategy, project management, and process improvement, with a focus on enhancing data observability and access. The Director will modernize integrations with digital marketing and advertising platforms, as well as ERP systems, to implement solutions that enable a Unified Constituent View. The role ensures that data systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational goals, thereby supporting resource mobilization, donor engagement, and operational excellence. The Director will lead cross-functional projects, optimize marketing technology, establish data governance frameworks, and manage vendor relationships, all while mentoring team members and collaborating with stakeholders across the agency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for data platforms and related systems, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and fundraising objectives.
Assess and recommend emerging technologies to enable a Unified Constituent view.
Lead cross-functional projects to enhance data infrastructure and integrations, optimizing existing systems for performance and user experience.
Implement a Customer Data Platform (CDP) to unify donor and engagement data.
Optimize marketing automation platforms for omnichannel orchestration and predictive analytics.
Oversee data integration initiatives with digital advertising platforms for unified attribution modeling.
Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, ensuring quality, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and compliance standards.
Improve data observability to monitor the health and reliability of data pipelines.
Manage relationships with technology and platform vendors, ensuring high-quality service delivery. 1
Experience managing procurement systems and external vendors.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field is required. A Master's degree in computer science is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the technical aspects of the role.
Experience: Candidates should possess a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in data analytics, marketing technology, or CRM systems, with at least 5 years in a management capacity. Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and managing vendor relationships is essential, as is familiarity with data visualization and procurement systems.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in French or Spanish is considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and communities.
Additional Notes: This position is based in the United States and may involve domestic travel as needed. The role includes supervisory responsibilities, and candidates should be prepared to manage and mentor team members.
