Job Overview: The position of Web Content Migration Individual Contractor is crucial for the successful migration of the DPO and DPPA websites to Drupal 1
The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that the migration process is executed smoothly, with a focus on maintaining the accuracy, accessibility, and functionality of the content. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to gather and validate content, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide training to enhance the internal capacity for sustainable web management. The contractor will also be expected to improve the overall user experience by reorganizing content architecture and ensuring compliance with UN standards.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Web Content Migration Individual Contractor include supporting the migration of existing web content from legacy platforms to Drupal 10, coordinating with focal points across DPO and DPPA to gather and prioritize content for migration, and liaising with the technical team to resolve any technical issues. The contractor will ensure compliance with UN standards for accessibility and design, assist in reorganizing content architecture for better usability, and provide technical quality assurance through proofreading and testing. Additionally, the contractor will troubleshoot migration issues, adapt multimedia content for web integration, and provide training and guidance to staff to strengthen their capacity in web content management. Documenting migration steps and workflows, as well as supporting outreach to ensure content updates, are also key responsibilities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Communications, marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Digital Marketing, International Relations, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. Proven experience in web content management and migration projects, particularly with Drupal or similar CMS platforms, is essential. Strong knowledge of web publishing, HTML, metadata standards, and accessibility compliance is required, along with familiarity with multimedia optimization and mobile responsiveness. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with multiple stakeholders effectively.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Communications, Digital Marketing, or International Relations. A first-level university degree may be accepted if accompanied by additional qualifying experience. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of web content management and migration processes.
Experience: Candidates should have proven experience in web content management and migration projects, particularly with hands-on work involving Drupal or comparable content management systems. Experience in supporting multiple sites and ensuring consistency across platforms in large organizations is highly desirable.
