Job Overview: This internship position is designed for individuals interested in gaining practical experience in knowledge management and communications within a prestigious international organization. The intern will work closely with the Special Assistant in the OUSG, contributing to the enhancement of knowledge management systems and tools. The role involves assisting with research and the organization of key documents, improving the accessibility of knowledge products, and contributing to the development of strategies that leverage AI tools for internal knowledge management. The intern will also engage in various tasks related to the OUSG, providing a comprehensive understanding of the UN's communication strategies and operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at supporting the Office of the Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications. Key responsibilities include:
Assisting with the research, classification, preservation, and access to essential documents within the OUSG.
Developing and maintaining systems that enhance the searchability and accessibility of knowledge products.
Contributing to the design and layout of knowledge management tools and workflows for the Office.
Assisting in the formulation of a strategy for utilizing AI tools in internal knowledge management processes.
Supporting other tasks as assigned by the OUSG, which may include administrative duties and participation in team meetings.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific criteria:
Enrollment in or completion of a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) or enrollment in or completion of the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
While professional work experience is not mandatory, a field of study closely related to the internship is required.
Applicants must provide proof of their academic status and area of study.
Strong writing and editing skills in English are essential, with additional UN languages considered an asset.
Detail-oriented individuals with strong research and analytical skills are preferred, along with an interest in the UN's work and values.
