Job Overview: The position of International Consultant for eLearning Development and Production involves significant responsibilities in the design, development, and production of eLearning modules aimed at enhancing the capacity of Member States to address issues related to drugs, crime, and terrorism. The consultant will work closely with the Chief of the Justice Section at UNODC HQ in Vienna and will report to the Global eLearning Programme Coordinator. The role requires project management skills to execute the production of training content for eLearning modules, ensuring that they are effectively designed and implemented. The consultant will also be responsible for coordinating with other consultants involved in the production process, testing the modules, and making necessary improvements based on feedback. This position is crucial in promoting innovative solutions and ensuring that the eLearning modules are accessible to public officials across various contexts.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the International Consultant include:
Contributing to the overall production and implementation of eLearning modules, ensuring high-quality design and development.
Managing projects related to the production of eLearning training content, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
Coordinating with consultants responsible for the production process to test modules and implement improvements based on user feedback.
Editing and publishing module content, including conducting final reviews to ensure accuracy and quality.
Collaborating with other project management activities and implementing innovative solutions as required.
Producing a variety of print materials and publications using relevant computer systems and software tools.
Developing new eLearning modules based on storyboards provided by subject matter experts (SMEs).
Reviewing edits and feedback to ensure that module content is effectively integrated and developed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in a field closely related to the development of eLearning modules, such as Computer Science or Design. Alternatively, a first-level university degree in similar fields combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in animated design or production of eLearning modules is required. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship, which are desirable attributes for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Design, or a closely related discipline. Candidates with a first-level university degree in similar fields, along with two additional years of qualifying experience, may also be considered. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities involved in developing effective eLearning modules.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional working experience in the field of animated design or the production of eLearning modules. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage projects effectively and contribute to the design and development of educational content. Additionally, experience in communication, innovation, and entrepreneurship is desirable, as these skills will enhance the consultant's ability to deliver high-quality eLearning solutions.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position, along with excellent drafting and communication skills. Knowledge of French, which is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat, is also required. Proficiency in another United Nations official language is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication and collaboration within the organization.
