The organization operates in numerous countries worldwide, providing support and assistance to migrants in various contexts, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa through programs like the Migrant Protection, Return and Reintegration Program (MPRR-SSA).
Job Overview: The Reintegration Assistants – Supply Chain support position is crucial for the AVRR team, particularly in light of the increasing number of migrants requiring assistance. The role involves providing day-to-day supply chain support to the AVRR Unit, ensuring the timely implementation of cash and in-kind reintegration assistance in compliance with IOM’s standards and donor requirements. The position requires close coordination with end users to prepare accurate specifications and terms of reference, as well as reviewing and processing procurement requests. The Reintegration Assistants will also support the procurement process, liaise with vendors, and maintain an effective tracking system for payment requests. This role is essential for enhancing the capacity of the AVRR team to meet the growing demands of migrant reintegration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day supply chain support to the AVRR Unit, particularly for the MPRR project, ensuring timely implementation of reintegration assistance.
Coordinate with end users to prepare accurate specifications, terms of reference, or scopes of work.
Review and process procurement requests for completeness and compliance with organizational requirements.
Prepare requests for quotations, solicit and evaluate bids, and draft purchase orders and related documentation.
Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Process invoices through the WAVE system and maintain an effective tracking system for payment requests.
Provide regular status updates to unit head and program managers.
Knowledge of migration issues, reintegration processes, or humanitarian principles is an advantage.
Minimum 2 years of experience in supply chain support roles, preferably within international organizations or NGOs.
Previous experience with ORACLE is a distinct advantage.
Demonstrated integrity and attention to detail in performing responsibilities.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, administration, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with knowledge of migration issues, reintegration processes, or humanitarian principles will have an advantage. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that the educational qualifications are recognized and valid.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain support roles, ideally within international organizations or NGOs. Previous experience with ORACLE software is considered a distinct advantage. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to maintain integrity while performing assigned responsibilities and should be capable of working with minimal supervision. Experience in a multicultural setting, particularly with international humanitarian organizations or government institutions, is also beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in both French and English is required for this position, encompassing both oral and written communication. IOM’s official languages include English, French, and Spanish, and proficiency in these languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
Additional Notes: This position is subject to local recruitment, and only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Cameroon will be eligible for consideration. The appointment will be contingent upon certification of medical fitness, verification of residency, visa, and necessary authorizations by the concerned government.
