Job Overview:
The position involves the evaluation of the International Research and Training Centre on Erosion and Sedimentation (IRTCES). The role is crucial for assessing the effectiveness and impact of the center's programs and initiatives in addressing issues related to erosion and sedimentation. The selected candidate will be expected to analyze data, conduct interviews, and prepare comprehensive reports that reflect the findings of the evaluation. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of the IRTCES programs, focusing on their relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability.

  • Engage with stakeholders, including staff, beneficiaries, and partners, to gather insights and feedback on the center's operations.

  • Present evaluation results to UNESCO management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure a comprehensive evaluation process.
  • Stay updated on best practices in evaluation methodologies and apply them to the assessment process.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, with a proven ability to evaluate complex programs and initiatives. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for preparing reports and presenting findings. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to UNESCO's values and possess a collaborative spirit to work effectively with diverse teams. Familiarity with environmental issues, particularly erosion and sedimentation, is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of evaluation methodologies and frameworks.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a Master's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, social science, or public policy is required. Candidates with a PhD in a related discipline will be given preference. Educational qualifications should be complemented by relevant training in evaluation techniques and methodologies.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of professional experience in program evaluation, preferably in an international context.
