The Field Security Associate will provide technical support and advice on security management, including risk mitigation strategies, situational awareness, and incident response. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Field Security Associate include evaluating security risks and assessing existing security measures for UNHCR staff and operations. The incumbent will conduct regular security assessments, monitor compliance with security protocols, and supervise the guard force. They will assist in the physical protection of refugees and persons of concern, provide security briefings and training to staff, and maintain relationships with local law enforcement and security agencies. Additionally, the Field Security Associate will support the implementation of security-related projects, monitor security-related events, and provide security-related advice to management. The role also involves responding to staff queries on security issues and ensuring that all security measures are in line with UNHCR policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or two years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Essential qualifications include a high level of knowledge in the security field, particularly in field security operations and security analysis. Candidates should demonstrate strong cross-cultural communication skills and proficiency in IT and computer literacy. Additionally, the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity is crucial.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a High School Diploma as a minimum, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field. While specific fields of education are not mandated, a background in security, safety, or related disciplines is advantageous.
