Job Overview:
This position involves consultancy services for the systematization and development of communication materials related to the conversion process of refrigeration units. The consultant will be responsible for creating technical, methodological, and dissemination materials that clearly and systematically document the experiences of implementing alternative technologies to HFCs (hydrofluorocarbons) in Mexico. The goal is to strengthen the adoption of best practices in the refrigeration sector, contributing to environmental policies and practices.   • The consultant will work under the supervision of the National Officer for Environment, Energy, and Resilience, and will be expected to deliver high-quality outputs that meet the project's requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of existing materials and documentation related to the conversion of refrigeration units.
  • Develop a systematic approach to document the implementation experiences of alternative technologies to HFCs.
  • Create technical and methodological materials that are clear, systematic, and replicable for stakeholders in the refrigeration sector.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather insights and data necessary for the development of communication materials.
  • Ensure that all materials produced are aligned with the project's objectives and meet the quality standards set by UNDP.
  • Present drafts of the materials for feedback and incorporate revisions as necessary.
  • Finalize and submit all deliverables in a timely manner, ensuring they are satisfactory to the project requirements.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with the project team to provide updates on progress and address any challenges encountered during the consultancy.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience in developing communication materials, particularly in the context of environmental projects or initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of refrigeration technologies and their environmental impacts, especially concerning HFCs.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and Spanish, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Familiarity with UNDP's policies and procedures is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure high-quality outputs.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in environmental science, communications, public policy, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage and may enhance the candidate's profile for this consultancy.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in consultancy roles, particularly in developing communication strategies and materials for environmental projects. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable, as is familiarity with the refrigeration sector and climate change mitigation strategies.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory for this position, as the materials will need to be developed in both languages. Knowledge of additional languages would be considered a plus, particularly if they are relevant to the stakeholders involved in the project.

Additional Notes:
This consultancy is part-time and will be conducted remotely, allowing for flexibility in work hours. The payment will be made upon delivery and acceptance of the products, ensuring that they meet the project's satisfaction criteria. The contract duration is estimated to be two months, with a clear start and end date. The position is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
