Job Overview: The consultant will play a crucial role in the integration of the Giga initiative in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH), which aims to connect every school to the Internet by 203
This position involves working closely with various stakeholders, including government actors, education ministries, and private sector partners, to ensure effective coordination and execution of Giga activities. The consultant will be responsible for real-time monitoring of connected schools, capacity building for education authorities, and facilitating communication among stakeholders to enhance digital transformation in education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Real-time Monitoring: Prepare and execute a full-scale real-time monitoring launch for all connected primary and secondary schools in BIH, ensuring at least 90% coverage. This includes developing an installation plan for GIGA Meter, providing technical support, and communicating with education authorities and schools.
Advisory Board Coordination: Co-lead regular meetings of the Advisory Board for Digital Transformation in Education, establish working groups, and track progress on agreed actions.
Research and Advocacy: Liaise with relevant ministries and organizations to confirm the sample of schools for participation in Selfie4Teachers, develop coordination plans, and provide technical guidance to school coordinators and teachers.
Reporting: Extract and analyze monthly and quarterly real-time monitoring reports, sharing findings with relevant partners and stakeholders to inform decision-making and strategy.
Required Qualifications:
University degree in IT, IT management, or relevant disciplines.
Good understanding of the BIH constitution, education sector, and internet connectivity landscape.
Strong ICT skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as experience with remote technical support and plugin installation.
Strong analytical and digital skills for data analysis and visualization.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with intercultural sensitivity and strong facilitation abilities.
Educational Background: A university degree in Information Technology, IT management, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the technical aspects of digital transformation and internet connectivity in the education sector.
Experience: Candidates should have 3-5 years of relevant experience in project management and coordination, particularly in contexts related to education and technology. This experience is crucial for effectively navigating the complexities of digital transformation initiatives and working with diverse stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in English and BCS (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian) is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with local stakeholders and partners involved in the Giga initiative.
Additional Notes: This consultancy position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements. Selected candidates will not be considered staff members under the United Nations and UNICEF regulations and will not receive benefits such as leave entitlements or medical insurance. Candidates are responsible for their tax liabilities and ensuring valid visa and health insurance for the contract duration.
