Job Overview: The Regional logistics-manager" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Manager will report directly to the Regional Director and will be responsible for shaping the strategic logistics direction for the East Africa Regional Division. This role involves overseeing the deployment of both Global and Regional initiatives and ensuring the design and delivery of high-quality, performance-driven logistics systems across a portfolio of integrated countries. The position requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, representing HI in key forums and initiatives, and contributing to logistics excellence to meet the evolving needs of vulnerable communities. The Regional Logistics Manager will also manage Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) resources for the region and play a crucial role in implementing HI's ICT standards. The logistics department in the East Africa Division will consist of approximately 50-60 staff members across different countries, and the Regional Logistics Manager will serve as the line manager for country logistics teams while being part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) at the regional level.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Management: Act as an exemplary manager embodying HI's values, translating strategy into operational objectives, organizing team management, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
Steering: Develop and execute the logistics component of the operational strategy for the region, implement a KPI-based steering system, and engage with external stakeholders for coordination and mutualization of activities.
Professional Channel: Continuously assess and optimize the organizational structure and resources in the region, lead recruitment and onboarding processes, and build capacity within teams.
Standards Deployment: Ensure HI standards are contextualized and compliant with donor requirements, implement emergency preparedness measures, and guarantee adherence to internal rules.
Risk Management: Maintain a risk analysis matrix, ensure internal controls are deployed, and coordinate external audits.
Supervision of ICT Performance and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security: Manage ICT providers, ensure compliance with best practices, and implement action plans for technical standards.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Logistics Coordinator at the regional level and at least 3 years as a Logistics Manager at the country level is required. Strong experience in team management, capacity building, training, and coaching is essential. Candidates should possess expertise in planning, purchasing, and conflict resolution, as well as strong interpersonal and intercultural skills. Proficiency in IT tools such as Power BI, Office 365, and other relevant software is necessary.
Educational Background: A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is mandatory for this position. Additional certifications in logistics or project management may be advantageous.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a regional logistics coordinator role and 3 years as a logistics manager at the country level. Experience in humanitarian or development contexts is preferred, particularly in East Africa.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of French or local languages spoken in the East African region is considered an asset.

The contract offers a local package for residents in the country, while international applicants will receive a comprehensive benefits package including social cover, medical coverage, and a competitive salary starting from 2986€ gross per month, depending on experience. Per diem rates vary by country, and paid leave is provided at 25 days per year.
