Job Overview: The Transport Assistant position is a vital role within the Administration Unit of UNHCR, responsible for managing all transport-related activities. The incumbent will be expected to interact regularly with staff at various levels within the organization and maintain frequent communication with local suppliers, authorities, and other external stakeholders, such as vehicle maintenance service providers and UN agency counterparts. The Transport Assistant will oversee the fleet of UNHCR-owned vehicles and any rented vehicles, ensuring their proper maintenance and utilization. The Transport Assistant will coordinate maintenance schedules, manage driver assignments, and arrange transportation for staff during official visits and road missions. Additionally, they will monitor road networks and traffic rules, ensuring that drivers operate vehicles safely and report any defects in a timely manner. The role also involves supporting risk management and decision-making processes within the area of responsibility.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Transport Assistant position must possess a minimum of one year of relevant experience, along with a High School Diploma or a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
