Job Overview:
The Programme Associate plays a crucial role in supporting the design, planning, and management of UNFPA's Gender-Based Violence (GBV) country programme. This position involves managing new and ongoing GBV projects in collaboration with implementing partners, providing logistical support, monitoring project implementation, and ensuring adherence to recommendations for successful project execution. The Programme Associate is responsible for applying global standards and procedures while assisting in the creation of substantive knowledge relevant to GBV programming. This includes compiling, synthesizing, and analyzing information to ensure integration with other UNFPA programming areas such as Reproductive Health, Gender, Population data, and Youth. The role requires maintaining collaborative relationships with all programme and project staff, particularly the GBV officer, to facilitate effective project implementation and coordination with government actors and other UN agencies. The Programme Associate also supports ongoing efforts towards the overall implementation of the country program strategy, ensuring that GBV initiatives are effectively integrated into broader programming efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Associate is tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including: participating in the identification and formulation of the country GBV programme by compiling and analyzing relevant information; drafting project documents and work plans; liaising with Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) teams to prepare statistical data; evaluating GBV project and programme activities; establishing mechanisms to assess the achievement of results; conducting field visits; participating in review meetings and evaluation missions; preparing regular inputs for status and progress reports; analyzing factors affecting results and recommending corrective actions; guiding the routine implementation of assigned GBV projects; coordinating the delivery of project inputs; ensuring national counterparts' participation in training activities; providing logistical support for GBV projects; coordinating review meetings and workshops; training project personnel on national execution and programme policies; contributing to knowledge creation by documenting findings and best practices; supporting GBV advocacy and resource mobilization strategies; establishing a network of donor contacts; and assisting in organizing donor meetings and public information events. Additionally, the Programme Associate supports activities related to the CO's humanitarian response to crises.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a High School degree along with 7 years of relevant experience in program or project management, particularly in GBV prevention and response. Previous experience with the UN is considered an advantage. Proficiency in current office software applications is required, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. Field experience and professional experience in GBV-related activities, especially in programme or project management, are essential. Direct work with survivors of GBV is an asset, highlighting the need for candidates to have a compassionate and informed approach to sensitive issues.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a High School degree. However, candidates with higher education qualifications in relevant fields such as social sciences, public health, or international development may be preferred, as they can provide a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding GBV issues and programme management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in program or project management, specifically related to GBV prevention and response. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully managing projects, working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, and demonstrating the ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a dynamic environment. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in humanitarian or development contexts, is highly valued.

Languages:
Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. This bilingual requirement ensures effective communication with diverse stakeholders, including local partners, government officials, and beneficiaries. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with a broader audience and facilitate collaboration across different cultural contexts.
