Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position at UNICEF involves providing emotional support and prevention assistance through a call center service in Bolivia. Volunteers will work in shifts, dedicating 8-10 hours per week, and will be responsible for offering emotional accompaniment to the community, particularly vulnerable populations such as women facing violence, migrants, and the LGBTQI+ community. Volunteers will undergo comprehensive training on care protocols, case management, and call center operations, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle sensitive situations. The role emphasizes ethical considerations and requires volunteers to adhere to strict guidelines to safeguard the well-being of both the beneficiaries and themselves. Continuous monitoring and support will be provided by program supervisors, and active participation in training sessions is encouraged to enhance the volunteers' skills and effectiveness in their roles.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and prevention assistance to the Bolivian community through a call center service.
  • Work in shifts of 8-10 hours per week, as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  • Participate in comprehensive training on care protocols, case management, and call center operations.
  • Engage with individuals of all ages, prioritizing vulnerable populations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines throughout the assignment.
  • Report any emotional distress or ethical concerns to the designated supervisor immediately.
  • Complete mandatory self-guided training courses and participate in synchronous training sessions.
  • Ensure a distraction-free workspace to provide effective support.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other volunteers to enhance service delivery.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to provide emotional support and handle sensitive situations with care.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with call center operations.
  • Willingness to participate in training and continuous learning.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and needs of the community.

Educational Background:
A background in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Volunteers should have a strong understanding of emotional support principles and practices, particularly in the context of vulnerable populations.

Experience:
Previous experience in counseling, social work, or community support roles is advantageous but not required. Volunteers should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the community they serve.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the service is provided to the Bolivian community. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly indigenous languages or English, is considered a plus but not essential.
