Job Overview: The E T Consultant position at the World Bank is a critical role within the Finance & Accounting (WFA) Vice Presidency, which oversees financial reporting, internal controls, and the management of Trust Fund and Partnership portfolios. The consultant will be part of the Structured Finance Division (WFASF), which focuses on product control functions for various financial instruments, including borrowings, derivatives, and investments. The consultant will be responsible for delivering market data and valuation work, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial data, and collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in valuation systems, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external partners. The consultant will also play a key role in training and guiding less experienced staff, contributing to the overall capacity building within the division.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the E T Consultant include reviewing valuations for financial instruments in the IBRD/IDA portfolios using Murex and Numerix modeling tools, ensuring the quality assurance of calculated market data, and evaluating data sources for reliability. The consultant will analyze market movements and formalize results into procedures and reporting, prepare market data validation proposals, and secure necessary approvals. Additionally, the consultant will implement models for vanilla and structured products, compare WB valuations with counterparty valuations, and review market data related to interest rates, foreign exchange, equity, and credit. The consultant will participate in projects to enhance current applications, coordinate with stakeholders across the World Bank and other financial institutions, and provide training and direction for less experienced staff.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the E T Consultant position must possess a Master's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or a relevant discipline. A professional finance or accounting qualification such as CFA, FRM, CA, CPA, or ACCA is highly desired. The role requires a minimum of two years of relevant work experience, preferably with major financial institutions or a Big 4 accounting firm, along with practical knowledge of interest rate curve construction, yield and FX volatility surfaces, and Bond/Swap valuation methods for structured instruments. Candidates should demonstrate comprehensive expertise in valuation systems such as Numerix Oneview and Murex, as well as a strong understanding of fixed income and debt derivative products.
