Job Overview: The position of International Consultant within the Resource Mobilization Division (REM) is designed for a motivated and qualified professional who possesses a deep understanding of socio-economic development challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean. The role involves supporting the Structured Partnerships team in identifying and developing strategic alliances and partnership opportunities that facilitate private capital mobilization towards financing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The consultant will engage in research and data analysis to support IDB Group's operational work, contributing to the development of new financial instruments and optimizing existing partnerships. The position requires collaboration with various teams within the IDB Group to enhance the impact of projects and initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
Supporting the Structured Partnerships team in identifying and developing strategic alliances for new financial instruments aimed at mobilizing private capital for SDGs.
Conducting market research and analyzing data on partnership opportunities in IDB member countries and potentially non-member countries.
Assessing and optimizing existing partnerships to enhance their strategic impact across IDB Group projects.
Contributing to GPS strategic communications by producing publications, reports, web content, and materials for presentations.
Assisting in the development of research analytical notes on global partnerships and resource mobilization.
Maintaining and updating partner intelligence through CRM entries.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent advanced degree in relevant fields such as Finance, Economics, International Relations, or Public Policy. Additionally, candidates should have at least two years of experience in finance, particularly in private capital mobilization towards financing SDGs. Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is required. Candidates must also be citizens of one of the 48 member countries of the IDB Group and have no family members working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent advanced degree in fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role, such as Finance, Economics, International Relations, or Public Policy. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of resource mobilization and development finance.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience in finance, specifically related to private capital mobilization for financing Sustainable Development Goals. This experience should align with the IDB Group's operational work and priorities, demonstrating a solid understanding of the financial landscape and partnership development.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, along with proficiency in one of the other official languages of the Bank, which include Spanish, French, or Portuguese. This multilingual capability is crucial for effective communication and collaboration within the diverse environment of the IDB Group.
