Job Overview:
The Programme Associate position at UN Women is integral to the Leadership and Decision-Making (LDM) section, which manages the women's political participation component of the Strategic Partnership Framework (SPF) with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad). This role involves supporting the implementation of programs consistent with UN Women’s rules and regulations, contributing to financial management, and providing operational, administrative, and programmatic support. The Programme Associate will work closely with the LDM team, the SPF Policy Specialist, and various stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery and compliance with financial protocols. The position is temporary, lasting for 364 days, and is designed to support the ongoing programs while preparing for future phases of implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Associate will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to: providing administrative and logistical support for the management of LDM Section’s programs; monitoring budget preparation and finances of programs/projects; assisting in the preparation of program budgets and proposals; providing technical guidance to country offices on program delivery and reporting; preparing information for program closure and audits; creating projects in the Quantum system; preparing budget revisions and managing financial transactions; maintaining internal expenditure control systems; organizing meetings, workshops, and events; making travel arrangements; preparing public information materials; supporting resource mobilization efforts; and performing other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a completion of secondary education as a minimum requirement. A Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration is considered an asset. Additionally, candidates should have at least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or program management/support. Proficiency in using multiple office software packages and experience in supporting a team are essential. Familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, preferably Oracle Cloud, is desirable. Strong financial and budgeting skills, along with the ability to manage data and documents effectively, are also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of secondary education. While a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration is preferred, it is not mandatory. The emphasis is on practical experience and the ability to perform the duties outlined in the job description effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or program management/support. Candidates should have a proven track record of working in a computer environment and using various office software packages. Experience in supporting a team and familiarity with modern web-based ERP systems, particularly Oracle Cloud, is advantageous. The role demands a strong understanding of financial management and program implementation processes.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish, is desirable and would be considered an asset in the recruitment process.

Additional Notes:
This is a temporary appointment for a duration of 364 days. The position may involve working under a temporary assignment for current UN Women staff or a loan arrangement for staff members in the UN Common system.
