Job Overview: The Project Management Consultant role is designed to provide essential project management support for the Audience & Brand tracker and additional analytical support to the Audience and Market Insights Manager for the East Asia Pacific region. This position aims to enhance data-driven fundraising strategies by managing research projects that deepen the understanding of donors, audiences, and markets. The consultant will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external research partners to ensure that insights derived from research are actionable, reliable, and aligned with UNICEF's mission and fundraising goals. The role encompasses project management, stakeholder engagement, research design, quality assurance, insight generation, and knowledge management, all aimed at strengthening the organization's fundraising and engagement strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for several key areas: 1) Project Management and Coordination: Planning and coordinating the Audience & Brand tracker and market research projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met. 2) Stakeholder and Supplier Engagement: Acting as a liaison between internal teams and external research partners to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals. 3) Research Design and Quality Assurance: Reviewing research tools and conducting quality checks on data to ensure methodological accuracy. 4) Insight Generation and Communication: Analyzing research findings and preparing presentations and reports that support data-driven strategies. 5) Knowledge Management and Regional Collaboration: Maintaining organized records of research outputs and sharing insights across teams.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a solid understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, along with strong project management skills. They should be capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and have experience with research and data tools such as Excel, SPSS, Tableau, and survey platforms. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical audiences. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work with cross-functional teams are also required, along with a commitment to UNICEF's mission and values.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Social Sciences, Statistics, Psychology, International Development, or a related field is required. A postgraduate degree or certification in Market Research, Data Analysis, or related disciplines is considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in market research, consumer insights, or monitoring and evaluation is required, preferably within the nonprofit, development, or fundraising sectors. Candidates should have experience managing end-to-end research projects and reviewing research tools and outputs for quality and relevance. Familiarity with fundraising and donor engagement research is an asset, as is experience working in a regional or multicultural context.
Languages: Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of another East Asia Pacific language such as Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Malay, Indonesian, or Thai is considered an asset.
Additional Notes: The consultancy is expected to be based on a lump sum fee structure, with payment contingent upon the satisfactory completion of deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if deliverables are not met to the required standard. Selected candidates will not be considered staff members and will not receive benefits such as leave entitlements or medical insurance. They are responsible for their tax liabilities and must ensure their visa and health insurance are valid for the contract duration. Selected candidates must also confirm their fully vaccinated status against COVID-19, although this does not apply to remote consultants.
