Job Overview:
The Consultant for Corporate Research and Due Diligence will play a crucial role in supporting UNICEF's engagement with businesses and private philanthropic entities. This position is vital for ensuring that all interactions with the private sector align with UNICEF's integrity standards and priorities. The consultant will be responsible for conducting corporate research and due diligence, which involves profiling and assessing potential partners, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring that all findings are documented and managed appropriately. The role requires the ability to deliver timely and audience-focused reports that inform UNICEF's corporate engagement strategies, thereby contributing to the organization's mission of protecting children's rights and welfare.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake various tasks, including providing corporate research support for due diligence processes, conducting corporate review reports, and managing information related to corporate research on UNICEF's platforms. The consultant will also be responsible for monitoring and documenting corporate research findings, disseminating information on ethical business practices, and ensuring that all deliverables are met according to specified timelines. Specific deliverables include the submission of approximately 40 due diligence research reports per month, timely uploads of reports into the due diligence database, and the dissemination of research findings in various formats such as briefing notes and presentations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in communication, marketing, journalism, public relations, business administration, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of two years of progressive experience in corporate social responsibility, market research, or related fields is required. Experience in developing high-quality communication products targeted at corporate audiences, particularly in the international development sector, is essential. Familiarity with research, analysis, and partner due diligence is highly preferred, along with the ability to identify strategic issues and communicate effectively across various audiences.

Educational Background:
A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or above) in relevant fields such as communication, marketing, journalism, public relations, or business administration is required for this position. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of corporate engagement and the ethical considerations involved in partnerships.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of progressive experience in fields related to corporate social responsibility, market research, or reporting. Candidates should have a proven track record of developing polished communication products and conducting thorough research and analysis, particularly in the context of partner due diligence. Experience in the international development arena is highly valued, as it aligns with UNICEF's mission and operational context.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another UN official language is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
