Job Overview: The position of Program Manager involves leading advocacy and communications efforts for the National Polio Surveillance Project (NPSP) and the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) in India. The role requires a self-driven individual with a blend of technical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and critical thinking abilities. The Program Manager will be responsible for developing strategic roadmaps, implementation guidelines, and monitoring progress against a developed evaluation framework. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring alignment with national government and donor priorities, facilitating the transition of VPD surveillance functions, and enhancing the capacity of IDSP-NCDC. The Program Manager will also engage with multiple stakeholders, including government ministries and development partners, to secure visibility and collaboration for the project.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Program Manager will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
Develop strategic roadmaps and implementation guidelines to facilitate the transition process of VPD surveillance.
Provide strategic and analytical support to program work streams, identifying high-impact areas of intervention.
Lead the design and implementation of processes for data collection, management, and review to monitor progress.
Coordinate and monitor programmatic activities, engaging with state government health leadership and ministerial nodes.
Support the curation of financial management plans for optimized resource allocation.
Identify risks and challenges to implementation and develop mitigation strategies.
Build and maintain relationships with government stakeholders and development partners.
Develop presentations and reports for stakeholders, synthesizing key learnings and disseminating information.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Postgraduate/master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in fast-paced environments. Experience in management, healthcare consulting, development sector consulting, or public health strategy roles is preferred. Exceptional analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the capacity to work independently in a multicultural environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required, along with the ability to handle multiple tasks and synthesize complex information.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's or Postgraduate/master’s degree.
