Job Overview:
The position involves supporting the Program Management Unit (PMU) Lead in the transition of the Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPD) surveillance network to the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) under the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). The PMU is responsible for facilitating day-to-day operations, curating strategies for implementation, organizing high-level reviews, and ensuring that leadership guidance translates into timely operational actions. The role requires a high degree of ownership of key deliverables and problem-solving abilities to drive innovative technological solutions for government adoption and health system strengthening. The candidate will work closely with government stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure that transition milestones are consistently met and that the program's objectives are achieved effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the position include developing strategic roadmaps and implementation plans for the transition of the VPD surveillance network, mentoring and guiding team members, and adhering to a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework. The candidate will manage key interventions and systems developed in the project for adoption within the public health system, cultivate deep engagement with health leadership, and support monitoring and evaluation of program activities. Additionally, the role involves identifying potential risks to implementation, documenting and disseminating learnings, supporting grant management, and maintaining trust-based relationships with government stakeholders and development partners. The candidate will also support broader initiatives in the infectious disease surveillance segment and assist with other responsibilities as requested by program leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in management, public health, public policy, or other relevant fields. They should have at least 8 years of work experience in public health, management consulting, public policy, or related areas. Experience working with government stakeholders and familiarity with the public health system is essential. Prior experience in leading workstreams that leverage programmatic health data is preferred, along with proven performance in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously is crucial, as is a willingness to travel frequently within and outside the program geography in India.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as management, public health, or public policy. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of public health systems and management practices necessary for the role.

Experience:
