Job Overview: The Research Analyst position at the World Bank Group in Riyadh is a critical role within the Economic Policy Global Practice, specifically focused on the K-Hub initiative. The successful candidate will be expected to utilize strong quantitative and analytical skills to support the K-Hub's multidisciplinary work program. This role involves collaborating closely with the K-Hub team and the broader Economic Policy team to contribute to various analytical products and research efforts. The Research Analyst will be responsible for data management, analytical contributions, research support, and engaging in policy dialogue with government counterparts and stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities: The Research Analyst will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Data Management: Collecting, managing, and analyzing economic data, maintaining macroeconomic databases, ensuring data quality, and preparing visualizations and summaries to support analytical work.
Analytical Contributions: Developing analytical products related to competitiveness, economic diversification, trade, and productivity, including input for reports, policy notes, and economic briefs.
Research Support: Assisting the Senior Economist with research and analysis, conducting literature reviews, gathering and processing data, and contributing to research papers and presentations.
Policy Dialogue: Participating in policy discussions with government counterparts and stakeholders, preparing presentations, briefing notes, and materials for meetings and workshops.
Team Collaboration: Working closely with the Senior Economist and colleagues across various Global Practices to ensure a cohesive and impactful work program.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Economics or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in quantitative analysis. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in economic analysis, research, or a related field is required. Technical skills should include strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, proficiency in MS Excel, Stata, and EViews for data analysis and management, and the ability to produce analytical outputs such as presentations and concise reports. A solid understanding of macroeconomics, fiscal policy, international trade, and structural reform issues is essential.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position is a Master's degree in Economics or a related field. This advanced degree should provide candidates with a robust understanding of economic principles and quantitative analysis techniques, which are crucial for the analytical tasks expected in this role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in economic analysis, research, or a related field.
