Job Overview:
The Logistics Associate (Information Management) position is crucial for the World Food Programme's operations in Gaza, particularly in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The incumbent will serve as a focal point for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating logistics information, working closely with logistics and information management personnel from various humanitarian organizations. This role involves producing logistics coordination products and reports, liaising with stakeholders to gather information, and supporting the creation of data collection initiatives. The Logistics Associate will also manage data for the logistics unit, ensuring that all logistics information is accurately represented and accessible to partners. This position is vital for enhancing the efficiency of logistics operations and ensuring that humanitarian assistance is delivered effectively to those in need.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: producing logistics coordination products and reports in standard formats such as situation updates, daily/weekly reports, dashboards, presentations, and meeting minutes; liaising with stakeholders in the humanitarian community to gather information and represent challenges in logistics operations; collecting comprehensive data on logistics procedures and bottlenecks; creating surveys and maintaining communication with partners; supporting quantitative and qualitative data collection initiatives using tools like Kobo, ODK, and MoDA; drafting donor proposals and reports; consolidating key operational information; maintaining a data repository for analysis and visualization; managing the content of the Logistics country operations webpage; ensuring timely communication with Cluster partners; and performing other duties as required to support the logistics operations in Gaza.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a completion of secondary school education, with a post-secondary certificate or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area such as business administration, computer science, technology, or supply chain management being desirable. Additionally, candidates should have a strong understanding of logistics operations and information management processes, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders in a humanitarian context.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes at least a completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate or a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as business administration, computer science, technology, or supply chain management is preferred. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics and information management in humanitarian settings.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of six years of progressively responsible work experience in data analysis, database concepts (including SQL), and data management activities such as data cleaning and reporting. Experience in humanitarian contexts is highly valued, as it provides insight into the unique challenges faced in logistics operations during emergencies. Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools, as well as experience with SQL and Python, is considered an advantage.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English is required for this position. This bilingual proficiency is essential for effective communication with various stakeholders and partners involved in the humanitarian response in Gaza. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is offered as a Service Contract for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to WFP needs, staff performance, and availability of funds. The role is specifically for Palestinian nationals residing in Gaza. The monthly remuneration will be based on the SC salary scale, and the position includes health coverage under CIGNA with co-cost sharing, as well as social insurance contributions. Employees will accrue annual leave at a rate of 2.5 days per month and sick leave at a rate of 2 days per month. It is important to note that remuneration under the Service Contract is subject to national or local taxation.
