Job Overview:
The position of International Consultant for Teacher Training Modules is integral to the UNESCO-UNICEF Joint project "Empowering Education in Uzbekistan: Leveraging ICT and Digital Learning for High-Quality and Inclusive Education Results". This consultancy aims to enhance the quality of education for vulnerable children in Uzbekistan, particularly in rural areas and for girls. The consultant will be responsible for reviewing and delivering training modules in andragogy and pedagogy, specifically designed for mentor teachers. The role involves collaborating with local partners and national institutions to ensure that the training modules align with the Competency Framework for Teachers in Uzbekistan. The consultant will facilitate training sessions, promote inclusive teaching practices, and support the professional development of mentors, ultimately contributing to improved educational outcomes for all students.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties include reviewing training module descriptions and session outlines, participating in online coordination sessions, and delivering three-day training modules for groups of mentor teachers. The consultant will facilitate active, learner-centered sessions using adult-education methodologies and provide feedback and reflection notes after each training round. Additionally, the consultant will contribute to the continuous improvement of training materials, support the documentation process, and assist in monitoring and evaluation efforts led by the project team. The consultant will also ensure methodological coherence across all training modules and foster professional exchange among trainers.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in education, social sciences, or a related field, along with a minimum of ten years of professional experience in adult education or teacher training. At least three years of direct experience as a trainer or facilitator is required, with proven expertise in pedagogy, mentorship models, or andragogical approaches. Familiarity with Central Asia or post-Soviet education systems is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate intercultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively in diverse contexts, with fluency in spoken and written English being mandatory.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in education, social sciences, or a related field is essential for this position. This educational background ensures that the consultant has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively contribute to the training and development of teachers in Uzbekistan.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of ten years of professional experience in adult education or teacher training, with at least three years of direct experience as a trainer or facilitator. This level of experience is crucial for the consultant to effectively design and deliver training modules that meet the needs of mentor teachers and align with national educational frameworks.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is essential for effective communication and collaboration with international and local stakeholders.
