Job Overview: The Finance and Administrative Associate position at UN Women Mozambique Country Office is crucial for supporting the development and implementation of various projects in line with UN Women’s rules and regulations. Reporting to the Programme Coordinator, the Associate will play a key role in financial management and operational support, ensuring the efficient and transparent use of financial resources. This role requires collaboration with program and operations teams to address complex finance-related issues and to provide necessary administrative support. The Associate will be responsible for executing a wide range of financial and administrative services, ensuring compliance with UN Women’s financial and administrative policies. The position also involves monitoring financial transactions, preparing budgets, and providing finance support to the Programme and Operations teams, thereby contributing to the overall success of the Country Office's programs.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Finance and Administrative Associate will undertake a variety of duties, including implementing financial strategies and ensuring compliance with UN Women’s financial regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying financial transactions, monitoring financial exceptions, and providing assistance in the planning of financial resources. The Associate will prepare and administer the Country Office budgets, track expenditures, and ensure the timely use of financial resources. Additionally, the role involves providing finance support to the Programme and Operations teams, preparing financial reports, and assisting with audits. The Associate will also compile information for resource mobilization efforts and facilitate knowledge sharing within the organization. Other duties may include conducting training events, supervising staff, and performing additional tasks as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Finance and Administrative Associate position must possess a strong understanding of financial rules and regulations, as well as accounting principles. Proficiency in IT tools and management systems is essential, along with excellent skills in spreadsheet and database packages. The ability to administer financial processes and transactions effectively is crucial. Educational Background: The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of secondary education.
