Job Overview:
The Software Developer (ASP.NET Core) position at UNRWA involves designing and developing software solutions primarily for the IT Service Center in Gaza. The role requires a strong foundation in information technology and software development, particularly in web applications. The developer will be responsible for gathering complex system requirements, designing full-stack web applications, and ensuring that the solutions meet business needs. The position also emphasizes the importance of documentation, testing, and ongoing support for the developed applications. The developer will work closely with clients to understand their needs and will be expected to provide thought leadership in creating innovative solutions. Additionally, mentoring junior staff and guiding them in application design and development is a key expectation of this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Software Developer include:

• Analysis and Requirements Gathering: Engaging with clients to gather complex system requirements and researching existing technologies to propose solutions.
• Design and Development: Creating full-stack web applications while adhering to good programming practices, including design patterns and software architecture.
• Documentation: Maintaining thorough documentation of code and processes, ensuring clarity for future maintenance and support.
• Testing: Conducting comprehensive testing of all changes to ensure functionality and error handling.
• Implementation: Implementing changes in accordance with change management policies, ensuring effective communication regarding the nature and risks of solutions.
• Maintenance: Monitoring changes and resolving complex issues to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth transitions.
• Support: Providing ongoing support and troubleshooting for developed applications.
• Additional Duties: Performing other related tasks as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a university degree or master's degree in information technology, information management, computer science, software engineering, or related fields. Candidates must have proven experience in information technology and software development, particularly in web applications. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience is required for those with a bachelor's degree, or 1 year for those with a master's degree, specifically in ASP.NET Core / .NET Core (C#) development and MS SQL Server. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns, as well as expert-level proficiency in .NET technologies. Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, is also essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are necessary.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a university degree or a master's degree from an accredited institution in fields such as information technology, information management, computer science, software engineering, or business administration. This educational background is crucial for understanding the technical requirements of the position and for effectively contributing to software development projects.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in information technology and software development, particularly with a strong focus on web applications. For those with a master's degree, at least 1 year of relevant experience is required. The candidate should have hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core / .NET Core (C#) development and MS SQL Server, including experience with Web APIs. A solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and cloud platforms is also necessary.

Languages:
Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory for this position. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with clients and team members effectively. While additional languages may be beneficial, English proficiency is the primary requirement for this role.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy position is expected to last between 6 to 11 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The remuneration for this consultancy role is USD 1,410.70 per month, plus an 8.33% advanced termination indemnity, contingent on fund availability and the candidate's qualifications and experience.
