Job Overview:
The ICT Coordinator position is crucial for the effective management and implementation of Information and Communication Technology systems within the IOM Egypt Country Office. The role involves coordinating ICT activities to ensure they align with the organization's operational goals and support the overall mission of IOM. The appointee will oversee the ICT team, manage resources, and ensure that technological solutions are effectively utilized to enhance operational efficiency. This position also requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including project managers and external partners, to address business challenges through innovative ICT solutions. The ICT Coordinator will play a key role in promoting digital transformation initiatives and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage ICT resource utilization within the Country Office to support operational needs, including Wave implementation and change management.
  • Supervise the ICT team, ensuring effective performance management and fostering a cooperative work environment.
  • Coordinate with country office leadership to understand their ICT needs and translate business challenges into practical solutions.
  • Represent IOM in discussions with external stakeholders, including UN ICT working groups.
  • Manage ICT operations and services to align with mission goals and comply with established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Facilitate the implementation of modern workspace solutions to enhance the digital employee experience.
  • Identify areas for improvement in ICT infrastructure and advise management on necessary enhancements.
  • Support the procurement and provision of ICT-related equipment and services.
  • Respond to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">information security incidents and coordinate with HQ ICT for cybersecurity efforts. 1
  • Develop and maintain data systems and analytic reports to support data-driven decision-making. 1

  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in managing ICT operations and teams.
  • Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into ICT solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools is an advantage.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant area is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in ICT management, with a focus on supporting operational needs in a complex organizational environment. Experience in the humanitarian or development sector is an advantage, particularly in managing ICT in emergency settings.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage, as it will facilitate communication within the local context and with stakeholders in Egypt.

Additional Notes:
This position is a full-time role based in Cairo, Egypt, which is designated as a family duty station. The successful candidate will receive a Volunteer Living Allowance of approximately USD 2,437.4 per month, along with a one-time entry lump-sum payment of USD 4,000 and an exit lump-sum upon completion of the contract. Medical and life insurance coverage is provided, along with access to training resources through the UNV E-Campus.
