Job Overview: As a Technology Architect within the Cloud and DevOps squads at the EBRD, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Bank’s technology landscape. This position involves designing scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions that have a tangible impact on business operations. You will work with a variety of technologies, including Azure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, guiding engineering teams to implement robust designs. Your role will require you to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, influencing enterprise-wide decisions while collaborating with architects, product teams, and senior stakeholders. You will be responsible for translating high-level architectural visions into actionable designs, championing innovation, and promoting best practices across Cloud and DevOps environments. Duties and Responsibilities: In this role, you will ensure that all technical designs and implementation plans align with the Bank’s IT Strategy, including Cyber security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security governance and IT Service Management practices. You will operate within an Agile Framework, working closely with teams to deliver business value efficiently. Your responsibilities will include contributing to the Enterprise Architecture Community of Practice, maintaining architecture documentation, and translating enterprise architecture strategies into effective low-level designs. You will define and document implementation approaches, guiding engineering teams in operationalizing these designs. Collaboration with Business Analysts, Engineers, and Product teams will be essential to ensure alignment and successful delivery. You will also contribute to the harmonization of systems and infrastructure, adapting architecture to meet current and future project requirements while ensuring agility and resilience. Additionally, you will analyze enterprise business contexts and strategic trends to shape future technology architecture, define principles and migration plans, and propose innovative technologies to modernize the IT estate. You will guide the development of architecture deliverables and support presentations to governance bodies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts clearly, both in writing and verbally, especially when engaging with stakeholders. Experience in capturing technical requirements and documenting them effectively is essential. You should have a background in engaging with business and IT stakeholders to ensure alignment between architecture and business goals. A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required. Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and product-aligned teams is necessary, along with demonstrable experience in TOGAF and hyperscale cloud architectures. Experience in designing and supporting microservice-oriented, containerized solutions is also required. Understanding software development principles, infrastructure management, and performance monitoring approaches is crucial. Experience with CI/CD tools for automating workflows is necessary, and candidates should hold recognized DevOps certifications or demonstrate equivalent practical experience.
Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should be able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience if they do not hold a formal degree. Continuous professional development and certifications in relevant technologies and methodologies are highly valued.
Experience: Candidates should have substantial experience working within Agile and DevOps environments, contributing to sprint-based and continuous delivery processes. Experience in designing, implementing, and supporting cloud architectures, particularly in hyperscale environments, is essential. Familiarity with microservices and containerized solutions is also required, along with experience in collaborating with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the working language of the EBRD. Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the regions in which the EBRD operates would be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for three years. The EBRD promotes a hybrid working model, expecting employees to collaborate in person at least three days a week.
