Job Overview:
The Platform Engineer - Network security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security will play a critical role in the frontline of cyber defense, tasked with designing, implementing, and safeguarding next-generation security platforms. This position involves hands-on work with various technologies, including firewalls, Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), SSL VPNs, and more. The engineer will be responsible for building robust defenses that encompass perimeter protection, cloud security, zero-trust segmentation, and global load balancing. The role requires a deep understanding of network security technologies and the ability to work collaboratively with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners to ensure the highest level of security for the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Platform Engineer - Network Security include but are not limited to:
  • Designing, implementing, and supporting next-generation firewalls and web application firewalls.
  • Ensuring the security of cloud networks, particularly with Check Point and Microsoft Azure.
  • Managing perimeter security measures, including intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-malware, and threat prevention technologies.
  • Collaborating with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners to enhance security measures.
  • Maintaining a foundational knowledge of enterprise networking, including routing and switching.
  • Participating in the development of security policies and procedures.
  • Conducting regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Staying updated with the latest security trends and technologies to ensure the organization remains protected against emerging threats.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Platform Engineer - Network Security position should possess the following qualifications:
  • Intermediate to advanced technology certifications in network security, such as PAN Generalist and Specialist qualifications.
  • Entry-level service management certification, such as ITIL Foundation.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting next-generation firewalls and web application firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of cloud network security and related technologies.
  • Familiarity with secure access service edge (SASE) and SSL VPNs.
  • Ability to work effectively with Managed Service Providers and Professional Service Partners.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized training in network security or related disciplines are highly desirable and may enhance a candidate's application.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network security, specifically in designing, implementing, and supporting security platforms. Experience working with cloud security technologies and a solid understanding of enterprise networking principles are essential. Candidates should also have a track record of collaborating with external partners and service providers to enhance security measures.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly those spoken in the EBRD member countries, is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term contract lasting 3 years. The EBRD promotes a hybrid working model, expecting employees to work in the office at least 50% of the time.
