Job Overview: The Windows Server Administrator position is integral to the operation of the enterprise Windows Server infrastructure at the World Bank Group. This role involves managing and maintaining Windows Server environments (versions 2016, 2019, and 2022) to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance with organizational standards. The administrator will be responsible for deploying Windows servers both on-premises and in the cloud, performing regular patching of operating systems, managing user accounts and permissions in Active Directory, and ensuring the security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and compliance of Windows servers. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams in a SAFe Agile environment to align infrastructure services with business goals. The administrator will also contribute to incident management, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to World Bank Group policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Windows Server Administrator include: managing and maintaining enterprise Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022), ensuring high availability and performance; deploying Windows servers on-premises and in the cloud using certified images; performing regular patching of Windows operating systems; managing user accounts and permissions in Active Directory; handling NTFS and Share permissions on CIFS Shares; installing and monitoring infrastructure tools such as CrowdStrike and Splunk; troubleshooting Windows OS issues, configuration, and performance tuning; maintaining awareness of infrastructure security best practices; assisting with Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools; managing Windows workloads in Public Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, OCI); collaborating with cross-functional teams; contributing to incident, problem, and change management processes; maintaining detailed documentation for systems and procedures; developing and refining operational procedures; ensuring adherence to WBG policies; demonstrating ownership and accountability in responding to client inquiries; and participating in the team’s on-call rotation for production support.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required qualifications include experience in Windows Administration, deploying and managing Windows servers across various platforms, managing Active Directory users and groups, and familiarity with Windows Server Administration on VMWare, AWS, OCI, and Azure Cloud. Candidates should also have experience in security and compliance with Windows servers and related controls, and the ability to work effectively in an internationally diverse team environment.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, with a preference for candidates holding a Master’s degree. The educational background should be complemented by substantial experience in Windows Server Administration and related technologies.
Experience: The position requires significant experience in Windows Administration, specifically managing and deploying Windows servers across various platforms. Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience if holding a Master’s degree, or 7 years if holding a Bachelor’s degree. Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and OCI is also essential, along with a strong understanding of security and compliance practices related to Windows servers.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required.
